Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam — 2.5% of qualifying wealth above the nisab threshold, paid annually on the lunar anniversary of when the threshold was first met. Generic donation platforms have no concept of any of this. Mohseen does.
Every Zakat payment tracked separately from voluntary Sadaqah. Year-on-year history visible to the contributor in their portal and to the admin for record-keeping. Hijri-dated for religious accuracy; Gregorian-dated for tax purposes.
For Zakat-payers, an annual reminder appears 11 lunar months after their last Zakat payment. They can self-attest nisab eligibility; admins can override if needed. Reminders adjust for moon-sighting variances.
Nisab in gold (~85g) or silver (~595g). Current spot price displayed in the contributor's chosen currency. Suggested Zakat amount calculated; manual override always available.
Comprehensive annual statements showing Zakat paid across the lunar year. Available in the contributor portal. UK Gift Aid, US 501(c)(3), Indian 80G, Canadian charity-number compliant formats.
Zakat must reach one of the eight categories of eligible recipients (Asnaf). Admin can designate which Zakat-funded programs serve which Asnaf, with audit trail.
Many Muslims pay Zakat during Ramadan — the rewards are multiplied. Mohseen's Ramadan campaign includes a Zakat-payer reminder workflow; the platform recognises the spike pattern.
